Oakville stretches along Lake Ontario, and most of the trips we run from here start either near the lake or north of Dundas. The two sides of town reach the airport by different roads.
From south Oakville the QEW is the main route, connecting to Highway 403 and then 401 or 427. From North Oakville and the Dundas corridor, we often take Highway 407 or Trafalgar Road to the 401. The QEW through Oakville and Mississauga is known for heavy traffic, so choosing the right link to the 427 or 409 matters.
The QEW and 403 are the bottleneck. Weekday early mornings and late afternoons, and Friday evenings in summer, can be slow. A weekend early morning pickup is usually the quickest trip of the week, and a Sunday evening return from the airport can also be quick if the 427 is moving.
Typical Oakville bookings include executives leaving from the Bronte and lakefront areas, couples going to long-haul flights from Glen Abbey and families heading to Florida in winter. We also see return pickups for Oakville residents who prefer a driver waiting inside the arrivals hall after a long flight.
Which highway is best from Oakville to Pearson?
Most days it is the QEW to 403 to 401 or 427, but the 407 is sometimes better for north Oakville. Our drivers decide on the day.
