Downtown Toronto is only about 25 to 30 km from Pearson, but it is the part of the GTA where traffic, construction and event closures change the trip the most. Door-to-door service is the main reason customers choose a chauffeur here instead of public transit.
From Pearson the two main routes are Highway 427 south to the Gardiner Expressway east, and Highway 401 east to the Don Valley Parkway south. The Gardiner is the quickest to the waterfront, Financial District and Entertainment District. Our drivers choose the better route depending on event traffic and construction.
Downtown arrivals are busiest weekday mornings and evenings. Event days at the Scotiabank Arena, Rogers Centre and festival weekends can cause road closures. Because of this, we recommend allowing extra time for a flight and confirming the pickup time with us the day before.
Typical bookings include business travellers going to Financial District offices, hotel guests staying near Union Station and the waterfront, and visitors attending events or conferences. Many customers prefer a door-to-door transfer instead of the UP Express plus a taxi or ride for the last leg, especially with luggage.
Should I take the UP Express or a chauffeur?
The UP Express is quick to Union Station, but you still need to reach your hotel or home from there. A chauffeur takes you directly to the door with your luggage.
Do you collect from downtown hotels?
Yes. Tell us the hotel name and the pickup time and we plan the route and the entrance with you.
Can you deal with event traffic and closures?
Yes. We check road closures and event schedules, and we advise the best pickup time for early or late flights.
